Technology Amnesty

I propose a worldwide technology amnesty. Hardware innovation stops immediately — this is as fast as it's ever going to get, this as connected as we're ever going to get. Your computer, your phone and your car are the best computer, phone and car that will ever exist.

When the ash cloud of 2010 grounded all commercial flights, I secretly hoped that it would spell the end of air travel forever. It would become a tiny blip in the history of the world, shrouded in the mists of ancient memory, a long-forgotten and obsolete technology. There would come a time when we'd reminisce to our great-grandchildren about the wonder of flying Ryan Air.
